For beginners, eye makeup can seem intimidating.

Before production started, I was often asked to create looks. Every scene required a different makeup and hairstyle.
To create my inspiration, I used images from magazines and online. This is what the industry refers to as a “morgue book”. . I learned how to create an image or similar with special effects makeup.
Here are my beginner eye makeup tips. This skill set can be used to create four stunning looks. These four looks can also be achieved by learning how to apply makeup.

Basic Eye Makeup: Anatomy Of The Eyes
When it comes to eye makeup tutorials, there are some important things to keep in mind. Understanding the terminology is essential to apply makeup correctly.
These images illustrate the functions and parts of the eye. These images can be used to assist with the steps below the four highlighted looks.
- OuterV – This line connects to your crease, creating a shape that is similar to an upside down “V”.
- Inner Corner : The inner corner of the eye, near the tear duct.
- Outer Corner : The outer corner of your eye.
- Waterline – The inner rim that lies between your outer edges and your lashes.
- Lower Lashline – This is the space between your lower and upper lashes.
- Upper Lash Line-This is where your lashes grow.
- Crease-This refers to the natural indentation, or sunken-in, just above your eyes. Find your crease horizontally above your eyes.
- Brow Bone is the prominent bone between your eyebrows (between your brows and your eyeliner).

Eye Makeup Look 1 – Au Natural Eyeshadow & Liner
This look is great for beginners. This look can be used to create sophisticated or simple eye makeup.
You can achieve this look with a simple neutral color palette. This look uses earthy browns.

For a look like this, you will need:
- The Shimmery Neutral eyeshadow shade – This will give your eyes natural, natural looks. You can choose between a shimmery brown or deep pinky-brown shade for medium to dark skin types.
- Light Matte Eyeshadow Color – This is often one of the lighter colors in an eyeshadow palette. It can be ivory, bisque, or light beige.
- Warm brown Eyeshadow shade – This color is often one of the darker shades in a palette.
- Eyeliner
- Mascara
Au Natural Eyeshadow & Liner Steps:
STEP 1
- Prime your lids. Apply foundation and concealer to your eye area. Apply translucent powder to your lids.
STEP 2
- Highlight your lids with a subtle, neutral shade (such as a champagne color) using your eyeshadow brush.
STEP 3
- A darker shade (brown) can give your eyes depth. It will be located in the outer third.
- If you can light tap, this brush can also be used for applying eyeshadow. Its primary purpose is to blend.
STEP 4
- The same brush can be used to remove eyeshadow pigments. You can also use a blending brush.
- Blend the brown towards section 2 of the lid. Begin at the outer corner, and work your way towards the center. Blend slightly beyond the crease.
STEP 5
- Apply a matte shade lightly with a brush such as the E40. Blend the shade with other shadows to soften it.
STEP 6
- Add a thin black line to your lower and upper lashes.
STEP 7
- Apply eye makeup under your eyes now. Apply the neutral, shimmery eyeliner color from Step 2 to the lower part of your eye (just below your lashes), about to the inner third.
- Apply the eyeshadow you applied in Step 3 to the lower corner. Use a clean, damp smudger to apply the brown around your outer edges. This is done in a back-and forth motion.
STEP 8
- Curl your eyelashes, then apply mascara!
Eye Makeup Look 2 – Purple Gaze Eyeshadow & Liner
Let’s now move on to natural makeup. This beautiful look adds a pop of color and is suitable for beginners.
PRO TIP: If your eyes are deep brown, purple is a good choice. This color is worth considering for eyeshadow palettes.
For a look like this, you will need:
- Eyeshadow: Shimmery Purple (Violet).
- Light shimmery, metallic eyeshadow shade
- Soft, warm brown eyeshadow shade
- Purple Eyeliner – If you don’t have the perfect shade of purple, you might try a thin black liner.
- Mascara
Purple Gaze Eyeshadow & Liner
STEP 1
- Prime your lid. Apply translucent powder to the lid.
STEP 2
- Use a light brown color for the outer edges and the crease of your eyes. The diffused effect should not leave any hard lines.
- To create a longer effect, the warm brown can be slightly extended at the corners. Keep moving upwards until you reach the outer crease.
- Your fluffy blending sponge should be used to start at the outer edges of your crease. Apply brown to your crease using the tips of the brush in a wiper-like fashion.
- Use a windshield wiper to blend the crease. Blend the brown that you have applied to the outer edge to the crease with your blending brush.
STEP 3
- The windshield wiper motion will blend the brown color upwards from the crease. Blend the color slowly upwards until you reach your brow bone.
- After you have blended it, it should appear very light and diffused.
STEP 4
- Apply your purple to your eyes with your basic shader brush.
STEP 5
- It will be completed by adding the silver color to the outer “V”. Apply the silver color to your outer “V”. Begin at the outer edge your upper lash line, and end at the crease. To create the “V”, draw the crease in the opposite direction. The “V” should be kept small. There are a couple of options for brushes that you can use to apply the “V”, such as a pencil eyeshadow brush and a tapered blender.
- This tapered blender brush can help you kill 2 birds. This brush blends purple onto your lid.
- Use a tapered blender stick to combine the outer silver and purple in small circular movements.
- Before you begin to blend, remove any excess pigment from the brush. Use small circular movements to keep colors from becoming too muted.
STEP 6
- Use a small shader bristle or smudger bristle to apply the color of silver to your lower eyelashes.
STEP 7
- Purple eyeliner should be applied in a thin line just above the upper lash line. The outer edge of the line may be thicker.
STEP 8
- Use mascara to enhance your lashes !
Eye Makeup Look #3: Feline Minty green Liner and Eyeshadow Metallics

- Warm Metallic Eyeshadow
- Optional Light Shimmer Eyeshadow Color – (A gold-champagne would be a good choice)
- Mint Green Eyeliner
- Mascara
Feline Minty green Eyeliner and Metallic Shadows Steps
STEP 1
- Apply primer to your lid. You can use concealer or foundation if you don’t have one. To set your makeup, use translucent powder.
STEP 2
- The warm metallic color can be lightly applied to your eyelids. To create a thin layer, blend it with your blending instrument.
STEP 3
- Use your smudge or small shader brush to apply the light-shimmer shade of eyeshadow to your lower eyeline.
STEP 4
- Apply the mint green eyeliner all over your lashes. Use an angle brush to apply cream liner.
STEP 5
- Draw a second line from the edge of your line to your lashline. You can now do the same for each eye. You must ensure that they are symmetrical.
STEP 6
- Fill the mini triangles in with your green.
STEP 7
- Apply the eyeliner in sections to your remaining lashes. Section 2: Start in the middle of your eyes. Connect to the triangle in the corner.
STEP 8
- Section 4: Start at the inner corner. Be careful. Next, move to the middle. Connect the two sections.
STEP 9
- Last, curl your lashes using mascara!
Eye Makeup #4 – Metallic Eyeshadows and Blue Liner Pop
This eye makeup look for beginners is stunning and attention-grabbing!

How to Make Metallic Eyeshadows with Blue Liner Pop Look
STEP 1
- You can also apply primer to your lid. Are you looking for a primer? Apply concealer, foundation, and translucent powder to your eyelids.
STEP 2
- Apply the warm metallic shade to your upper eyelids and lower lips. Next, expand your outer corner.
- Use a simple brush to apply eyeshadow. Blend the shadow along your lower lash line as well as around the outer edges.
STEP 3
- Apply a thin layer of black or dark gray eyeshadow to your outer and upper lash line. The eyeshadow should be applied lightly to the outer and upper 2/3 of the lash line.
STEP 4
- Apply your blue eyeliner pencil along your lower lash line.
STEP 5
